The place is situated at Western Ghats of Kerala and surrounded by three lakes Nallathanni, Periavaru, and Madupetti. The major attraction in Munnar is Salim Ali bird sanctuary, Tea plantation, and Eravikulam National park. 1. Trekking to Anamudi Peak

Anamudi Peak is the highest peak of Kerala and is 2690 meters high. The place is popular among trekkers and being on the height the peak offers panoramic views of nature. The Anamudi Peak is surrounded by Eravikulam National Park and the place has the largest population of Asian Elephants in India.

The peak is also famous for a flower Neela Kurinji which blossom once in 12 years. If you can visit the peak except for February to March because the Anamudi Peak is closed for tourists during this time.

3. Eravikulam National Park

This Park is spread over 97 sq. km. and situated at a great height. Earlier the place was a wildlife sanctuary but in 1978 it was declared as National Park and is managed by Kerala Department of Forest and wildlife. One of the major attractions of the national parks is rare Nilgiri Tahr and various flora and fauna. To keep the environment of National park pollution-free entry of vehicles is not allowed. The forest department organizes the trip and so only a few mini-buses are allowed.

4. Echo Point

The place is very famous because as the name suggests you can hear your eco if you scream. There are many things to do at this place such as boating, birdwatching, trekking. The echo point is situated near a lake and lush green landscapes make the surrounding stunning. The trekkers often visit here because of its trek paths which are extremely adventurous. 6. Top Station

The top station is the highest point in Munnar and famous for its low-lying clouds which give a perfect panoramic view of surroundings. The top station serves as the delivery point of tea to the state. Once in every 12 years you can see rare Neelarkunji shrub these shrubs blossom with blue flowers and due to these beautiful flowers, the whole mountain seems blue color.

While exploring the place you can also interact with tea pickers. To reach the top of the station you have different options to choose from such as trekking, mountain biking, and ropeway ride. The roads to the top are beautiful and perfect for biking and trekking.

7. Tree Houses in Munnar

The Tata Tea Museum takes its visitors for a 30-minute documentary which will take you through a historical item like 1909 telephone system, old typewriters, magneto phone and many more. You can see the factory where you can learn how tea is processed. As an activity, you can experience tea plucking and for tea lovers, they can enjoy tea while exploring the place.

9. Blossom Park

The Bloom park is an ideal place for a picnic spot with a family and is situated near the Pallivasal hydro-electric project. At this park, there are many activities available like boating, cycling, and skating. At the park, there is a children’s play area in a lush green garden and there are treehouse and ropeways for enjoyment. There are many activities to do which you can be a part of like boating, flower show, bird watching but be sure you do not pluck any flower or plant. Also, there is no entry allowed into the waterfalls.

10. Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary

The place has around 270 species of bird and to capture the beauty of them you can carry your camera along.
