Joshimath is located in Uttarakhand and favorite for every tourist. It is popularly known as Jyotirmath is a hill town and there are many pilgrim places in town that are visited by thousands of devotees. In winter season the place looks like heaven and it is also believed that the place was home of Lord Badri. There are many trekking trails and other adventure sports for tourists to enjoy. This is situated at the second highest peak in India. At the park, you can see some of the rarest flora and fauna. In 1982 the park was declared UNESCO world heritage site to protect the region. At the park, you can see varied species of mammals, birds, plants, and butterflies. Tourists can visit the park from May to October because the place remains closed for six months in a year.  

Apart from beautiful sightseeing, you can also do trekking at the park. The trek is considered as one of the challenging treks in the world. Tourists are accompanied by professional instructors for safety reasons.

2. Kalpavriksha

Kalparvriksha is the name of a famous tree in Joshimath and it is believed that the tree is around 1200 years old. According to history and legends, Lord Shiva was worshipped at this tree by Lord Shankaracharya. A temple is built under the tree that is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Fun fact about the temple is that the tree is evergreen, and it had never shed a leaf to date. To reach the tree you need to climb through terrain which is quite challenging.

3. Ropeway in Joshimath

In a ropeway ride, you can sit in a cabin and enjoy the aerial view of the town. A cable is attached between two points one at elevation and another point at a slightly declining position. The cabin serves as a transport and takes people from one point to another. The service of the ropeway is open in the summer season only.

4. Narsingh Temple

This beautiful temple is dedicated to Lord Narsingh who was the incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Inside the temple, you can see the idols of Lord Narsingh and Lord Vishnu. Visit the temple before sunset to see the real beauty of surrounding the temple. The temple is situated in a residential area so you can even interact with locals.

The fact about the place is that the water of Tapovan has medicinal properties and take bathe in it to cure skin diseases. Springs in Tapovan are hot and can reach up to 100 degrees Celsius. Around the hot spring, you can see villages and lush green landscapes that increase the beauty of the place.
