1. Pithoragarh Fort

This was established in 1789 by Gorkhas after they invaded the town. The fort is visited by many tourists to explore the history of the town. Do not forget to carry your camera along to click the scenic beauty of the surrounding. From here you can have a glimpse of Kali Kumaon.

2. Didihat

This is a hillock in Pithoragarh district and located at a height of 1800 meters. The place is blessed with natural beauty, forts, and temples. You can visit the place while on a pilgrimage route of Kailash and Mansarovar. From the top of Didihat, you can see the mighty peaks of Himachal like Trishul peaks and Panchachuli. The best time to visit the place is before sunset and at any time of year. Avoid monsoon season and winters because the weather becomes harsh to enjoy the travel.

3. Kafni Glacier 

The Kafini Glacier lies in Pindar valley and the place is a perfect spot for trekking. Through the trek, you can see Burans, which is one of the most beautiful flowers. There are guest houses nearby from where you can hire a guide for trekking and a tent for camping. Charges of camping and trekking vary with the services you choose.

4. Askot Sanctuary

This sanctuary is 40 km from Pithoragarh and is surrounded by a wide range of flora and fauna. The surrounding of the sanctuary is gorgeous and that’s what attracts lots of tourists. Wildlife lovers can find animals here like Himalayan black bears, snow leopards, musk bears and many more.

5. Chandak

The best time to visit the place is in august and September because during these months a fair is organised.

6. Kapilaswar Cave
