1. Ayyapancoil Hanging Bridge

This is one of the largest bridges in the state and is visited by many tourists on a daily basis. From the bridge, you can have a view of majestic hills covered with dense forests, coconut trees, and beautiful lakes.

2. Hill station of Idukki

Idukki is the place of hill stations that are famous among couples and nature lovers. For a better experience, you must stay near the hills for a mesmerizing view of the surroundings. At these hills, you can also go for trekking or hiking which is a perfect way to explore the place. The mornings and evenings at these hill stations are amazing and romantic for couples.

3. Waterfalls in Idukki

As we have mentioned earlier that Idukki is a place of hills and its impossible that you won’t find waterfalls in hills. Yes, there are many beautiful waterfalls that you must visit either for a picnic or for swimming. The entry to these waterfalls is free but to enjoy other activities at waterfalls you may get charged some price. If you want to visit waterfalls then you can go to any of the following waterfalls – Keezharkuthu falls, Thommankuthu falls, Valara falls, Powerhouse falls. The activities that you can do at these waterfalls are boating, fishing, swimming, rock climbing, and hiking.

4. Anamudi Shola National Park

The national park in Idukki is spread over 7 km of the area and is visited by people from all over the world. The park is famous for its wide range of bio-diversity, you can see around 60 species of trees and 170 species of shrubs and herbs. You can capture your memorable moments in camera also interact with some wildlife animals. The Anamudi Shola National park is home to many wildlife animals and around 100 species of butterflies. 

In Anamudi Shola National Park you can enjoy adventure activities that are arranged for tourist’s entertainment. The best things to do in Anamudi Shola National Park are boating and swimming at the waterfall that is within the Park.

5. Picnic spot in Idukki

Ramakkalmedu is one of the best places for picnic and is a major attraction among tourists. The place was a major part of the Ramayana epic, it is believed that the place was visited by Lord Ram in search of Mata Sita. The place is at a height of 3500 feet and the whole city can be seen from here, that’s why the place is now a perfect spot for a picnic as you will be seeing a panoramic view of the city.  At this place, you can even do some activities like paragliding, trekking, and rock climbing. The place has been visited by many celebrities, Leonardo Di-Caprio has also visited here and he described the place as heaven on earth.
